Description

This popular, cool season vegetable is a rich source of vitamins and minerals. The key to growing spinach is growing and harvesting before hot weather arrives which causes bolting (going to seed).

Uses

Sow seeds in cool weather. In mild climates fall and winter seeding is recommended.


Seeding Rates

Thin when plants are 1 inch high. Water frequently during dry spells. Mulch to discourage weeds and conserve moisture.


Establishment

Cut leaves as soon as they are big enough to eat.
